Emotions are also part of the body’s natural defense mechanism. When awareness and empathy are operating in full capacity, you being to experience more of the positive aspects of emotions that lift up our spirit such as: gratitude, insight, joy, and love. Each comprises a chemical reaction:

  • Dopamine impacts pleasure and reward – get plenty of rest or listen to music to increase your levels. Addiction also releases dopamine similar to each time you get a text on your Smartphone causing the feedback loop.
  • Serotonin acts as a mood stabilizer and mitigates depression – when you make your body more alkaline, you increase serotonin. You can do this by eating dark leafy vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, kale, peppers, and avocados.
  • Endorphins block pain – the classic “runner’s high” is produced from daily exercise or cardio workouts.
  • Oxytocin sometimes called the love drug – provides a feeling of love and trust. Snuggle up and get a hug.

When you learn the origin of these chemicals and your associated actions, you can stimulate your body and mind properly and naturally. Science is proving you can promote positive emotions of happiness, contentment, and even resilience. Regardless of your DNA composition or genetic makeup, different levels of positivity can be achieved. Engage in a healthier well-being because by helping yourself grow stronger emotionally will reduce a tremendous amount of unnecessary pressure and lift a burden off your shoulders and mind.
